Roberto Marino was born in Laureana Cilento (Italy) in 1922.
He taught italian literature and history for about forty years in a technical school in Salerno and actively participated to the cultural life of the city.
After his wife's death, and even if surrounded by his daughters' love, he retired from all cultural activities, looking for some relief from pain and loneliness in writing poems and short stories, inspired by his life and by real-life episodes in Cilento.
His historical and literary studies, focused on culture, history and traditions of Southern Italy and, in particular, of Cilento, have been published in several books and reviews.
Still unpublished remain a collection of "Raccontini" (short stories) and the collection of poems "Versi di un ottantenne" ("Poems by a eighty-year-old man").
At present, Roberto Marino lives and works in Salerno.
